Leftovers make days you WOD a little easier

The past two days I’ve made pork sausage burgers and tuna stuffed sweet potatoes. Two really quick meals that with some condiments such as homemade ketchup and homemade mayo really bring out the favors.

I’m sure if you follow BHP you’ve heard me say this time and time again. Always make more food than what you plan to eat that day. You have to eat tomorrow right? In short after a long WOD it helps to know when you come home you have some great food that you can just microwave and each after your shower.

Just another quick tip that sounds simple but also seems to be forgotten.

As always… Stay Paleo,
Bear

The world is changing, are you changing with it?

It’s no secret I’m a Robb Wolf fan and follow his stuff really carefully. So when something goes up on his site that strikes his fancy it usually strikes mine. Please don’t take my respect for Robb Wolf as some sort of sick fantasy. The guy just knows his stuff.

Recently on the Twitter-Sphere a tweet came in that as I read, felt so compelled to share I pinged it over to V for a read. She read it and then unlike most articles I send her, told me what a great article it was. Meeting her approval I couldn’t wait to post something on BHP; unfortunately something happened with work and there went that idea. However I’m back now and posting up what I wanted to put in the first place.

For starters here is the link from the Tweet: http://robbwolf.com/2012/04/02/paleo-world-changer/ Continue reading

01/10/2012 – After a long week

Wow, where to start? I just came off a week at work were  collectively had 16 hours of sleep. Really don’t want to go through that again any time soon. Thankfully I was able to get a few hours in last night which really helped me focus today. Another great thing that happened to was I was able to get back to the box for an amazing WOD, rowing and Burpees. So when I got home I was super hungry and wanted something quick. Continue reading

Grass-fed Beef for now; forever.

Since starting Paleo I’ve been eating grass-fed beef on and off (more regularly on than off). I’ve had from our local super markets at $10/lb, I’ve ordered it online and had it shipped at $6/lb and most recently I’ve driven 3.5 hours each way to pick it up from a farmer at $4/lb. But let me pause right there and back up a bit. Let’s start with the basics. Why grass-fed beef? Continue reading

Gluten in cosmetic products?

Exactly as you read it! I couldn’t believe it myself! Guess the government will find a way to add gluten to your daily life rather it be by consumption or through your epidermis! Personally, this sickens me. No matter how hard you try to stay healthy, you turn your head and find more BS you have to worry about. Continue reading

Food Logging

Hopefully you have already read the amazing article on measuring progress written by BHP member Drake and you are already familiar with how this works. Along with measuring your progress on the scale or with a tailor’s measuring tape; you should also be tracking your food. Yes you can call it a food diary if you want. Personally I don’t really care what people want to call it. Logging my food on a daily (yes I said daily) basis has made the world of a difference in my life and personally I feel that it will do that same thing for you. Continue reading

Measuring Progress

The process of measuring progress is often neglected. However, if done correctly it can be the easiest step of the “getting healthier and leaner process.” You may be thinking that simply  looking in the mirror and witnessing your clothes fitting looser  is enough to track progress; however you are mistaken.  Continue reading
